Snapdeal, Truecaller tie up for better shopping experience

Mumbai, Mar 2 Online marketplace Snapdeal today said it has partnered with Truecaller to enhance consumer experience by integrating Truecaller Priority in the company's IVR and order confirmation numbers.

Customers with Truecaller application installed on their mobiles will be able to easily identify and filter IVR or delivery verification calls when shopping on Snapdeal, it said in a statement here.

"It will help reduce a key friction point in the delivery process; ensuring that our customers don't miss out on any important calls from Snapdeal, and also iNCRease the daily rate of deliveries for us by increasing the call completion rate," said Jayant Sood, Chief Customer Experience Officer, at Snapdeal.

Opposing the cash transaction charges by banks, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said this will discourage people from making digital payments.

This move will harm the general public more since savings and salary accounts are used by common man to discharge various obligations, CAIT said in a release.

"If digital payment is to be leveraged, the government must absorb transaction charges by subsidising the same to banks and effective incentive schemes must be announced to promote more and more digital payments in India. Trade associations and other such organisations should be taken into confidence for working in tandem with the government to promote digital payments," said CAIT National President B C Bhartia.

Mumbai, Mar 2 ABB India today said that it has delivered wind power generators of 2,000 units to cross the 4.5 GW-mark in generation capacity.

The generators for wind turbines are manufactured in a factory in Gujarat's Vadodara city, which is the fourth such facility in the group.

South-based private sector lender Federal Bank has launched an update of its mobile banking application that will help users to open deposit products.

Users will be able to start term deposits, recurring and tax saving deposits, apart from doing hotels and bus bookings through the update. "Demonetisation is attracting more and more customers to our digital channels," said its head of digital banking Sunny KP.

Amidst depressed market conditions realty player Peninsula Land has said it has sold apartments worth Rs 300 crore on a project in central Mumbai's Sewri.

It conducted a soft launch of the show apartments and the prospective buyers took tours for two weeks and presented a cheque of Rs 11 lakh to book a flat, it said in a statement.

However, the price of the apartment was disclosed only later. Over 250 families evinced interest in purchase of which 75 finalised their purchase decision. After the final price disclosure, this amounted to sales of around Rs 300 crore, which the company claimed is a record.

Media firm Times Network, the broadcast arm of Bennett Coleman & Co, today appointed Nikhil Gandhi as its president for revenue.

His will be responsible to drive growth of profitable monetisation of the entire bouquet of channels. He will report to managing director and chief executive MK Anand, the company said in a statement.

Gandhi comes from Disney India where he was vice-president and head of revenue.
